Henry Orenstein is not the name we know as the creator of the Transformers toy line, but according to the then 1980s Hasbro CEO Alan Hassenfeld, it was Orenstein who saw the potential for toys what were more than meets the eye.
The rest is history, as we know the adaption of the Takara Diaclone and Micro Change toys into the Transformers branded toys, cartoons, comics, and most recently Hollywood movies are known the world over today. Henry Orenstein was an avid inventor who created numerous toys, games, and other products. He was reported to have more than 100 patents to his name when he passed away at 98.
