And yet, there's even more Transformers Legacy Core Dinobots coming your way thanks to Hasbro designer Evan Brooks @naveskoorb who's been leading the charge on the Volcanicus combiner team. He's posted a full report on just that with images of the force together and apart. He's also shared details on the new IDW comics Skarr figure, with a concept image and more details that you can read below.
Playing a bit of catch up since I forgot we were revealing Core Class Swoop and Skarr so soon!
These guys form the arms of Volcanicus that you can see in the first few photos. This gives the combined form pretty standard DLX articulation. He has shoulder rotation and raising, Bicep swivels and his hands can accept 5mm port weapons.
You can see that the waist and leg joints of Swoop and Scarr give Volcanicus the arm articulation similar to how Combiner Wars figures worked a few years ago.
I just think the combined form is pretty neat.
We've just got Snarl left!
Hopefully we'll be showing off the last foot soon.
Swoop compacts nicely into his Pterodactyl form and his wings give the combined form a nice spiky arm detail.
We were able to give him ball joint elbows since he's not as bulky as the other dinosaur forms.
Attached at the end is my concept drawing for Skarr. I based my drawing off the Comic appearance drawn by Livio Ramondelli from the Monstrosity arc of the IDW continuity. I was afraid (loaded with anxiety) that he wouldn't stand out/look like he belonged with the other Dinobots but I think we got there. He turned into quite a beefy tank by the end.
He gives Volcanicus a mean left hook!
Hope you all are enjoying what we've shown so far and look forward to the last reveal for these Core Class Dinobots!
Thanks!
-Evan
I prefer large figures.
I absolutely love the Core class. I'm not sure what people expect for 11 dollars, but I think they are amazing and fun.

I have really been loving the little dinobots despite their flaws.
And yes! I have my Grimstone on display and can't wait to have 2 dinobot combiners.
I was reading some of the comments after the Rise of the Beast toy reveals and was taken aback. I could not believe the amount of hate I was seeing. It's not like it was the Studio Series stuff either though, it's literally the stuff for the kids specifically and not also for the collectors. They're not even that bad though. I'm getting all those Weaponizers and the Weaponizers that come with the larger figures, I'll be getting them too. I'll also be getting the Spark Armor style figures. It's nice that they learned from the Cyberverse releases and use the robot's arms as the armored forms arms instead of trying to make unarticulated arms from the armor piece but it's just a shame that the base figures are now worse overall than either size Spark Armor base figure from Cyberverse. But the price reflects this. More complicated armors with less complicated base figures for $20 which was right in between the prices for the two sizes from Cyberverse. The smaller, core class looking figure look pretty good too even if they lack some articulation. That Rhinox in particular looks real good.
Back to the Weaponizers though, is it just me or do they remind anyone else of better designed Arms Microns from Takara's Prime line?

Being about the same size as Grimstone is really cool. Now I have to dig my Grimstone back out but luckily I still have time before we finish Volcanicus.
I really do hope that Hasbro does release Dinoking and not listen to some of the hate these figures are getting. It's not too bad but it's there.
