An unverified retailer solicitation is just out on the SNS about a possible Takara TOMY Transformers Masterpiece MP-44 Optimus Prime in G1 toy colors is up for release. That seems interesting, considering how much they promoted the original release as explicitly being G1 cartoon accurate.
This is likely a warm-up release for the Transformers 40th Anniversary that occurs next year, offering just the Robot / Truck without the trailer at for a lower price, prob $200-300 USD, like we saw with the MP-49 Nemesis Prime edition. The low resolution image (above) shows compares with the Diaclone / G1 mold in robot and truck modes. See the translated text of the retailer preview below for more details. MasterPiece / NewsThis would be better than the hyper anime version if it had blue eyes. Disappointing that this does it come with that. Overall the colors are much better than MP-44 which were overly exaggerated when compared with the anime.
