An unverified retailer solicitation is just out on the SNS about a possible Takara TOMY Transformers Masterpiece MP-44 Optimus Prime in G1 toy colors is up for release. That seems interesting, considering how much they promoted the original release as explicitly being G1 cartoon accurate.
This is likely a warm-up release for the Transformers 40th Anniversary that occurs next year, offering just the Robot / Truck without the trailer at for a lower price, prob $200-300 USD, like we saw with the MP-49 Nemesis Prime edition. This would be better than the hyper anime version if it had blue eyes. Disappointing that this does it come with that. Overall the colors are much better than MP-44 which were overly exaggerated when compared with the anime.
