Transformers: One Movie Deep in Story with D-16, Orion Pax, G1 Says Producer

With Rise Of The Beasts waning, the camera pans to the next big Transformers production in the movie franchise with the "Transformers: One" animated feature. Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently spoke with One Take News about how things progressing. He's shared that they are working on featuring the D-16 (young Megatron) and Orion Pax (young Optimus Prime) characters that will be core to the story. He also shares that thanks to the animation format, they have some "spectacular things" planned for the movie:

We’re deep in the process. It’s very exciting. We’re going back to the original story of Transformers so if you’re a Transformers fan, you’ll know but if you don’t know the story it’s still very interesting. The relationship between Megatron (voiced by Brian Tyree Henry) and Optimus Prime (voiced by Chris Hemsworth), or at this time, they were known as D-16 and Orion Pax. Watching that evolve is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time but we couldn’t do it in live-action because it would be far too expensive. So for this story, funnily enough, animation works and allows you to spectacular things and at a price you can afford. If we did it in live-action, it would probably have been twice as expensive and easily the most expensive Transformers movie we’ve ever made.

Lorenzo goes on to say that the "Transformers: One" story line is indeed tied to the original story of the Generation 1 Transformers, and will not be part of the previous films canon. Read the full interview for more details at One Take News

With the Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts coming in hot and heavy for the June theater releases, it is easy to forget there are at two more Transformers movies in the works. The animated being directed by Toy Stoy 4's, Josh Cooley, is supposed to hit screens in 2024, but we don't know anything about it, until now.

It’d be awesome if it was in the animation style of the High Moon Studio games. The title could just be a working title and it would suit the new Studio Series Gamer Edition subline perfectly.
