Movies / Daily PrimeHard to imagine we would come this far from the original 1997 cartoon series Beast Wars Optimus Primal to the 2023 movie incarnation of Rise Of The Beasts Optimus Primal. Other than being the Maximal Leader, what we saw in the movie was too brief to really get to know the new chunky monkey. Until we get to Takara TOMY's Ultimate Optimus Primal.
I cannot believe this isn't a homage to the original Black Jack Design. The scale and proportions are closer than I thought they would be, especially with the added Mega-Blast missiles. However, they differ most in the accessories and features, a good thing. Today, we have the Rise Of The Beast figure that accommodates the Battle Masters for extended play. Versus the original, that has its many action functions with flip out guns, firing missiles, and beating arms.
