Daily Prime - G1 Super Collection Figure Week: Optimus Prime Ion Blaster Mode

Day 2 of Super Collection Figure Week, we are taking aim at the G1 SCF ACT Convoy Ion Blaster Mode figures. Starting in 2000, Takara made 3" figurines featuring Convoy with his Energon-Axe, ION Blaster, Megatron Gun, Truck Modes, and other forms and features that appeared at one time or another in the 1985 Japan Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers cartoon - the in-language version of the American Generation 1 series. Takara produced quite a few G1 SCF figures in 6 ACTs over 3 years. We will be looking at all the SCF ACT Prime releases this week.

The Autobot Leader's main weapon was produced in just about all its variants with anime, metallic, battle damaged and clear versions made for ACTs, Exclusives, and the ever present KOs. The mold kicked things off with Anime and Clear versions in ACT 1, followed by an ACT 3 Chase figure, Confrontation Set that included the Ion Blaster too, and finally the crystal and metallic KOs that filled out the possible variants.
