Day 3 of Super Collection Figure Week, we are taking aim at the G1 SCF ACT Convoy Megatron Gun Mode figures. Starting in 2000, Takara made 3" figurines featuring Convoy with his Energon-Axe, ION Blaster, Megatron Gun, Truck Modes, and other forms and features that appeared at one time or another in the 1985 Japan Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers cartoon - the in-language version of the American Generation 1 series. Takara produced quite a few G1 SCF figures in 6 ACTs over 3 years. We will be looking at all the SCF ACT Prime releases this week.
Arguably the strangest of all Prime's weapon's was none other thank his arch enemy, MEGATRON! Takara didn't pass up the chance to commemorate the scenes from episodes "Countdown to Extinction" and "The Insecticon Syndrome" where Optimus Prime aligns with Megatron to combat under dire circumstances.
Takara produced four variants with anime, metallic, and pewter colors. This mold appeared initally in ACT2 in Anime and Pewter (not shown) colors with alternate right fists. ACT 6 featured a chase figure that included Sideswipes' jetpack. Finally, it was released with a metallic deco in the Special The Earth Obliteration Plan Wonder Festival Exclusive Convoy set.
