Daily Prime - BotCon Extended Universe G1 Defensor / Hot Spot That Never Was

What was planned for the original Transformers Universe OTFCC 2004 exclusive, was rescheduled for a BotCon 2005 Convention exclusive. Designed by 3H Productions, based on the Robots In Disguise Optimus Prime mold, the figure was to be updated with a retooled head and colors that were intended as a homage to G1 Defensor.

There was also a "Midnight Shield Defensor" alternate version planned as well.

Unfortunately, 3H lost the license and the figures didn't get beyond the custom figure mockups shown here. Thanks to TF Wiki and TF@Moon for the images.

All was not lost, as Hasbro managed to deliver a recolor of the Titanium RID Optimus Prime for retail release as the Titanium Universe Hot Zone 25th Anniversary Target exclusive figure. Perhaps we'll see this idea return in a future Generations edition using the HasLab mold.
