Daily Prime - Beast Machines Optimus Primal Running Package Variant

1999 wasn't much of a party for Transformers. The Beast Machines cartoon that was expected to continue the Beast Wars was not quite what it seemed. The heart pumping action taking place exclusively on Cybertron really shook things up. Unfortunately, the toys hardly had a pulse with the first wave being small and underwhelming.

The most dissappointing was the Deluxe Optimus Primal with little resemblance to his screen appearance and a howling face not even a mother could love. Oddly enough, there were two packaging variants of the figure with a regular straight pack (right) and a running version (left). Otherwise, the figures and packaging are identical. I don't know what the case mix was, or if this was introduced later, but the running version seems to be more rare.
