Prima Prime Concept Design Notes and Images from Transformers Age Of The Primes

Mark Maher @markclonus doesn't waste any time giving up the details on the Transformers: Age Of The Primes (AOTP) series with a new feature for Prime Prime.

This Thirteenth has a cool Silver deco with complimentary cool blue Matrix powered sword, and what looks like a alternate mode that drives and flys. Read on for the behind the scenes on how this character, and his descendent Armada Red Alert, forged with images and design notes below.

He has been awakened… welcome the first matrix bearer, Prima Prime. This voyager class highly articulated figure is ready to form his warriors of light and vanquish the darkness within any bot, creature, demon, and even apparition.

The almighty god bestowed Prima the matrix of leadership to be infused on the hilt of the mystical and beyond powerful artifact, the Star Saber sword. His courage and power will never waver, his compassion is what gives him purpose and meaning, the heart and soul of the 13 primes.

Worked on this wicked bot with the one and only Yuya san, whom has out done himself on this glorious action figure. The man has been responsible for so many great figures its always a great honor to work with such a talented designer.

The deets, alt mode is a cybertronian lunar vehicle with the ability to turn into a hover truck, not only that but the front end can also have a battering ram extension with a mount for the Star Saber sword to impale whomever opposes the magnificent warrior of light! The Saber blade can actually plug in topside to give the offroad vehicle a fin much like the fin seen on Solus Prime’s mini truck. The creation matrix can store inside Prima’s chest cavity. Colors really look stellar in person as the white grey metallic tone popped with the blue energon hits and then mixed in with the dark steel tone to makah da pizza pie dawishous

Armada Red Alert is a descendent of Prima Prime, his energon bloodline is tied to the god. By Primus, Prima has recruited the first in his warriors of light, whom shall be next?

If we don't get a sticker set and some horns to turn this GS Trypticon into Gigastorm from Toyhax, it would be a bigger waste than Hasbro not just releasing this as Gigastorm with a sticker sheet and some horns so it could be either.

Seriously though, just make some translucent orange horns to replace the translucent orange nose cannon cover. Then have some purple stickers for the central ramp with the silver Predacon sigil, some teal stickers for the spots and some silver and gold highlights for the hips, tail and arms.

But really, how do you redeco/reissue Trypticon and NOT make it Gigastorm? Especially after the overwhelming positive reception for Magmatron. People want some more Japanese Beast Wars love. Gigastorm, Big Convoy, Galvatron, Stampy, Moon, Heinrad, Longrack, Mach Kick. More than just Lio Convoy exists. Skywarp was a fluke as they just didn't want to name it Silverbolt even if Skywarp is a name that's even more known and used than Silverbolt. We have multiple versions of Skywarp and others all the time, we can handle three different versions of Silverbolt a few years apart each.

I can't justify $90 for what looks like an oversized legacy scale figure.

I was excited to hear we are getting Horri-bull and maybe there's still hope for Sureshot, too.
