2025 takes off with official concept design notes and images for Transformers Age of the Primes Aerialbots Commander Silverbolt. Hasbro designer Mark Maher @markclonus gives up the details on this much talked about figure that is central to the Superion combiner. Read on to learn more about what went into this remade Aerialbot in the report and images below.
The Age of the Primes welcomes the Aerialbot Commander Silverbolt, a heroic Autobot that’s a descendant of the great god Nexus Prime. Silverbolt’s ability to combine with his team of Aerialbots to form the powerful combiner Superion to defeat Legacy’s Menasor and all who stand before him! Let the combiner wars continue 🤪
Worked with Hasui san on this great character and he really brought him to life. Every combiner is such a heavy lift for all parties involved but the pay off of seeing it brought to life in such a smooth and articulated impactful way, well, it really speaks for itself.
I might be making 2 posts for this power packed toy because theres so much to show off. The extra thruster, that was designed from scratch, houses the combiner skeleton, which enables powerful strengthened and sturdy joints for dynamic posability and genius level smooth transformation sequences, to the immense joy we all get in every amazing crick of a ratchet joint, welp, again, speechless.😶
The big jet has the capability to lean the front nose to not only be more accurate to the actual jet but also pay homage to the transformation sequence in the g1 animated series. Its so satisfying to be able to open the cockpit and slide in any titan master for a classic wave of “bon voyage”. Almost as satisfying as having an accurate long range rifle that has multiple position fits with the capability of becoming a wicked cool blaster turret base for all the team to use. How glorious it finally feels when you put him up to an animated accurate Motormaster just so you can bodyslam that fool after he questions “So, who are you going to be a partial of next”?😂
More on the Aerialbot boys soon!
Really wish those leg bots sat further into the lower legs more so that only the jet parts are shown behind the legs. Since you have to fold the jet bits onto the tops of the jets and then that entire chunk gets plugged in, it make the lower legs look really stupid. Menasor doesn't have that problem since the cars not only have lower profiles to begin with, the front ends that do flip up end up filling in the look of the feet overall.
It looks like Superion does not have ankle tilts. Can anyone confirm?
All these Aerialbots look like garbage. It's like Hasbro is not even trying. Or at least they are trying to rip us off.
I'm dissapointed that they are recycling Motor Master's trailer junk for the limbs. The least they could have done was update those fixed fists.....this is so frustrating.
Also, for anyone that buys this set, it should come with a Breakdown to make up for those of us that got screwed over due to its lack of availability. It's like selling a car without a steering wheel....I'm so frustrated with Hasbro.
Everything looks great. But is it just me, or does Air raids wings look a little stubby.
Ok, I have two gripes that keep coming up.
1) why do autobot commander class figures include blast effects but not the decepticon ones? ( I really like the blast effects and they should be a pack in with all figure scales considering how much we pay now. they have a nice variety to include and use).
2) why do some figures have wrist articulation and some do not and why do some voyager figures have finger articulation but they can't add that to the combiner figures?
Besides that, superion looks great. The individual bots...we shall see when they arrive in hand.
