Following the January leaked MPG listings, the next Takara TOMY Transformers MPG release is teasing their next project as an evident MPG-17 Optimus Prime 4.0 release. The official SNS @TF_pr has posted this image showing muted previews of their presumed Autobot Leader.

What is leaked as a 4.0 version, looks like a new mold with a more angular design. Judging from the head with extended antennae, and other style choices. This looks like it could be based on Studio Ox Japanese illustrations from the 1980's, shown below.

This is long overdue, as theses designs are coveted by fans for their G1 accuracy and mecha robot influenced designs. If so, we can only hope Takara TOMY carry this through to an official MPG Gilthor figure release.

This looks awesome, but to be completely honest, I really just hope a third-party source re-scales this into CHUG size (or at least close to CHUG).
