Just out on the SNS is an update on the Takara TOMY Synergenex Series Macross 7 x Transformers Basara Convoy release that has been delayed from Winter 2025, to a July 2026 release.

The shown gray model test shot gives us a much better look at what this will look like in robot and alternate modes. The VF-1S Valkyrie inspired design departs from the classic with a fantastic Convoy playing guitar on stage.

Note the card on the left that shows the different head modes. Additionally, the rifle weapon, alternate heads, and what looks like a shield are displayed as well. This looks really impressive with the stage and speakers and other details that emerge in robot mode. Cannot wait to see this in turned up to 11 in full colors. Why in the blue hell is that not Rodimus Prime?
I mean I get that they REALLY want to shoehorn Optimus into all of these crossovers but why make a Rodimus Prime, give him Rodimus Prime's colors and then end up giving him Optimus Prime's facemask and chest? They like Rodimus in Japan right? And he's still a Prime after all. So maybe for this one they could've thrown him a bone like they did for Megatron and the Godzilla crossover.
SOMEONE better make new chest panels, head and hands for this alongside a decal sheet to cover the blue parts and to make the wings yellow.
Hell, I might just repaint it myself. Shouldn't be too difficult except for the hands.
