As promised, Takara TOMY have officially revealed the long awaited Transformers: The Movie 1986 Megatron figure that is being released in Japan as the Studio Series Transformers TS-12 Megatron. Just in from Amazon Japan are the official details and images.

This will be released in Japan on November 29, 2025 for a price of ¥ 8,800 JPY / $62 USD. We already know about the Hasbro release that will be shipping in September 2025. So this turns out to be coming later, even though it is being announced in Japan first.

Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons, who is paired with Studio Series SS-142 Optimus Prime, released in March 2025, is now available with a completely new design.

The leader of the Decepticons, the Emperor of Destruction Megatron, transforms from a robot to a battle tank. It comes with a huge fusion cannon attached to Megatron's right arm, which is also a characteristic of Megatron, a laser dagger that injured Optimus in the movie, and a handgun that resembles the custom rifle mode as an accessory part, and can be equipped in both modes.
