We are so sorry to report that G1 Transformers writer Ron Friedman (August 1, 1932 - September 15, 2025) passed away, at the age of 93 from cardiopulmonary arrest in Woodland Hills, CA.

Friedman was a prolific writer and producer for numerous TV shows, and known to fans for his work on the classic 1986 The Transformers: The Movie, as the man who killed Optimus Prime, and penned a biography with the title (below). Read all about his work on the WIKI for Ron Friedman.
