We had to see this coming with the recent Skybound Comics and Studio Series releases putting together the 86 Optimus Prime robot, and possible new head sculpt, with the arm replacement from the recent 86 Megatron. For better or worse, this will cost you an arm, but not a leg at this time, for a retail price of about $80 USD.

Obviously, times have changed as this is just $10 less than the original 86 Optimus Prime with trailer that originally retailed for $90. However, it is $28 less than the threezero MDLX Optimus Prime Comic edition with Megatron Arm and battle deco, but doesn't transform selling for $108. Not to forget the loaded up unofficial MD-005 KO 86 third party sets from back in May 2025 for about $50.

What is a cool homage, could have been much cooler with the added battle damage we saw in the comics. There is some attempt to deliver that in the Megatron Arm that has some gashes. However, the Optimus Prime figure looks out of place with the pristine paint job, when some cracked windshield stickers would have made all the difference. Read on to see the official product information and images on this new comic book homage.
