Hotwheels' latest collaboration with the veteran crossover brand involved the classic Bone Shaker and Twin Mill models, seemingly a logical choice. However, the results were only barely acceptable. The Bone Shaker was the better option, faithfully recreating the vehicle mode of the small car, with its skull mask being a rare find in recent years. Articulation and transformation were of a certain standard, and the transformation of the forefeet and lower legs was refreshing. The downside was the low shoulder joint position, which looked a bit odd. As for the Twin Mill, compared to the original small car, its vehicle mode should be slimmer and flatter. Its appearance is actually quite dashing, with the potential to be repainted like a Rodimus, but its flaws were also quite obvious. The need to plug in the two engines was acceptable, but the lack of detail or concealment on the hollow inner sides of the lower legs was simply excessive. It's no wonder that the prices of these two models have started to soften in the market, which is quite reasonable.
I was interested until I saw the $80 price tag. There is no legitimate reason for it to be so expensive. Pure price gouging!
Wow another G1 optimus prime nobody wants and with an $80 price tag to boot.
That Optimus, is a literal dream come true... but that price tag is most certainly not.
Never thought I would ever say this, but the Bumblebee actually looks pretty good. As a Transformer and Hot wheel fan, this is actually pretty exciting... but then again, it doesn't transform.
