Lost dreams connect across time!
The "Missing Link" series presents a hypothetical reissue of a toy that might have existed in that era.
The 14th installment features Ironhide, the Autobot security guard!
Ironhide was released overseas in 1984 as part of the initial lineup, but was not sold in Japan when it was introduced in 1985.
The original product separated from a car into two mechs, with the robot part being a power loader type, significantly different from its appearance in the anime. The head was recreated using a sticker on the seat visible through the windshield.
This time, Missing Link attempts a hypothetical reissue: what if the Ironhide toy had been created with a heroic concept, alongside the other Autobots, and closer to the anime style?
Ironhide transforms from a red Nissan Cherry Vanette-type minivan into a robot.
While retaining the zinc alloy construction in some parts, this toy transforms from a car mode that closely resembles the original toy into a heroic robot mode in a single-piece transformation, allowing for a wide range of action poses in robot mode.
It can also transform into a third mode, "Respect Mode," inspired by the robot mode of the original toy.
Equipment that appeared in the anime, such as the "Drill" and the "Laser" from the original toy, are included as plated parts. The rocket launcher on the back has detachable rockets, and the drill and rockets can also be stored inside the backpack.
Some of the patterns that were originally reproduced with stickers are now recreated with three-dimensional sculpting and coloring. Foil stickers are also included for optional application.
A "human" (female type) figure, identical to the one included with C-11 Delta Magnus (sold separately), is also included and can be placed in the cockpit in any mode.
A "secret emblem" is also attached to the robot body; warming it with your fingers reveals the legion mark.
The robot's back features a joint hole for a separately sold stand, allowing it to be displayed in action poses. The package illustration is a newly drawn piece inspired by the original design, and a collection card is also included. *The car mode (Cherry Vanette) is licensed by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
