The long-awaited Decepticons join the "Missing Link" series, a virtual reissue of characters that might have existed in that era. Introducing the intelligence officer, Soundwave!

Soundwave, one of the most popular characters in the series, transforms into a stereo cassette and launches cassette troops from his chest. Maintaining the same size and G1 style with some zinc alloy parts, he returns in the Missing Link series with articulated joints for free posing, a new transformation mode, and luxurious accessories.

The Soundwave figure itself features three-dimensional sculpting and coloring to recreate some of the patterns that were originally represented by stickers. Foil stickers are also included for optional application. Furthermore, the redesigned joints allow for significantly more dynamic action poses, such as kneeling and ejecting. It can also transform into a third mode, the "Light Standard Mode" seen in the first episode of the anime, "The Road to Earth," where he resembles a streetlamp on his home planet, Cybertron, deceiving the Autobots.

Accessories include familiar equipment such as the Electric Launcher, Vibration Blaster Gun, and Barrier Case, as well as headphones, a command microphone, and a cord—features characteristic of the original Japanese domestic version. (The headphones are for display purposes only and are not recommended for actual head attachment.) A "Secret Emblem" is also attached to the figure; warming it with your fingers reveals the army's mark. Each figure also features a joint hole for a separately sold stand, allowing for action poses. The package illustration is a newly drawn piece inspired by the original, and a collection card is also included.

This time, D-01 includes the newly designed "Scout Robo," a Cassettebot making its first appearance in 3D form. Appearing in the "Two Convoys" episode of the anime "The Transformers," this reconnaissance drone-type Cassettebot investigated the Coronium Crystal, yet it has never been commercialized before—a legendary character. This Missing Link finally fills the Cassettebot void.

Furthermore, the D-02 anime type includes a newly designed Cassettebot, "Condor Cybertron Mode (Anime Type)," which is being made into a 3D figure for the first time in the G1 format. This Cassettebot first appeared in the first episode of the anime "The Transformers," "The Road to Earth," and is Condor's Cybertronian form. Despite being a legendary character that has never been commercialized in the G1 format before, this Missing Link adds a new cassette to the Cassettebot collection.
