One again, DNA Design has found a way to take things to another level with the reveal of their DK-88 and DK-88W MPG-17 Optimus Prime Jetfire Armor Upgrade Kits. These unofficial add-on packs for the Takara TOMY Transformers MasterPiece G MPG-17 Optimus Prime figure give the figure the Jet Powered treatment with loads of ROTF Jetfire styled parts to give the Autobots Leader a lift. The upgrades include updates to the shoulders, chest, arms, and legs with wings and weapons, that is quite impressive visually. This pack is scheduled for shipping to Asia in December 2026, and should follow in the USA soon after. See the new product details and images below for the full preview.

The original MPG-17 OP already has very good articulation, but we felt it could still look more complete and have an even stronger presence. So with DK-88, we didn’t want to simply add more weapons. Instead, we redesigned and enhanced the overall armor profile while preserving as much of the original figure’s articulation and functionality as possible.
All-New Armor Design with Full Storage
DK-88 features a completely redesigned armor set, while minimizing any impact on the original figure’s articulation.
The main armor parts can all be fully stored in vehicle mode, helping both robot mode and vehicle mode maintain a complete and integrated appearance after the upgrade.
Joint / Ratchet Replacement Parts
The set includes two replacement parts that help reduce the limitations caused by the original ratchet positions, allowing for finer adjustment of the leg angles. These parts are optional, so you can choose whether or not to install them based on your own preference.
All-New Weapon Configuration
DK-88 includes 1 all-new weapon as standard, and it can be fully stored in vehicle mode. The separately sold DK-88W is an optional weapon set for fans who prefer a dual-gun configuration. Please note that due to limited storage space, the additional DK-88W weapon cannot be stored together with the standard weapon in vehicle mode.
As with our previous standalone weapon releases, DK-88W will follow the same production policy: It will only be produced during the initial pre-order run and will not be reissued separately in the future. If you prefer the dual-gun configuration, please consider ordering DK-88W during this pre-order period. We hope you’ll enjoy this heavier and more complete upgrade direction for DK-88.
The actual heck? This is about the height of greed. $90 US for a combiner that, when fully combined, is about half the height of a reg figure. On top of that we're talking basically minicons here with the LOWEST steps of transformation put of the entire line of figures/toys. Are you freakin serious? Capitalism and shrinkflation hitting hard. Insanity.
