Animated Blazing Lockdown In-Package

Thanks to TF08.net, we have our first look at an in-package Transformers Animated Blazing Lockdown figure. The figure receives a different color scheme to reflect his "fiery glow" as well as a chainsaw weapon rather than the hook with the original figure. Take a look at the images and character bio in the Animated Database.

I think his bio suffers from generic Hasbro syndrome. thus removing any unique characteristics and making him a generic phyco type

I wonder if he teamed up with Meltdown for this upgrade..

Meh, either way I liked my Lockdown as a Boba Fett .. hunting bots down for no reason just does the character injustice. I wonder if they plan to use the repaints in the show at some point.

The pics were found on the following link, but see them right below. LINK.

Profile

Exposed to an exotic form of energy, LOCKDOWN goes through remarkable changes. His systems are suddenly super energized so much that the excess power leaks directly through his armor in a fiery glow. Devoted more deeply than ever to tracking and destroying his AUTOBOT prey, he no longer demands payment for his work. Now he hunts simply for the joy of seeing the fear in a victim's eyes.

Galactic Powers & Ability:

Saw designed to cut through most armor

Supercharged sensors detect even cloaked enemies

Heated armor burns or melts whatever it touches

You should really give credit to the site you linked off of. TF.8 i believe. YOu can go back & do so.

This "gold" look looks hot! I will see about aquiring one of these possibly.

but we still need Lockdown's poncho. AND A MEXICAN SOMBRERO TO GO WITH IT.

:pfx

Well, I guess we could just make one out of one of those barbie things that our sisters/daughters/nieces have....

oh yea you should say "Second in box pics of TFA "Blazing Lockdown" figure." :P

I unfortunately had a little mishap in trying the hand mod for Lockdown, and have yet to replace him. As for this guy, well, I might pick him up just for the chainsaw weapon and nothing more.

BTW, where and when was the chainsaw weapon used? I don't remember quite frankly.

It was used in an episode in season 2, "A fistful of Energon." Lockdown has it attached to this left arm, so the box picture is at least somewhat accurate in that sense.

My fan explanation for the random-ness of the Transmetal vehicle bits was that the transwarp beam thingee that hit everyone hit a sort of "reset" button in each Cybertronian's protoform and caused bits of their last scanned vehicle mode to blend with their currently scanned mode. So Rattrap was a kind of dune buggy before scanning the rat, Airrazor was a pontoon equipped aircraft. Waspinator was a special case where his previous possesion by Starscream interfered. Stuff like that.

:clap

That sounds like an explanation they should've used in the show.

Well, it runs into trouble in the case of Cheetor who was all, "Woah! I'm learning to fly for the first time" but I'm quite certain I had an explanation for that, too...I just don't remember it.

Plus, it made it more fun to get to invent your own story behind Rhinox turning into a Transmetal when you got his toy.

Did it have something to do with a secret love of winter weather?

Stuff like that.

But, to answer your question, I believe Rhinox attempted to recreate the Transmetal accident, used himself as a guinea pig, and ended up almost dying...and it was only through working along with Waspinator and making use of the residual inextinguishable spark energy left by Starscream he was able to develop a cure.

But then he finally perfected the process every non-show Transmetal character got properly changed.[/geek]
