I think it has to do with people wanting to see Transformers become realistic vehicles that they can see everyday on the street.

I think it's that people get more of an impression of "adult collectible" if the alt mode can pass for the kind of die-cast model car that adults generally collect.

What is it about little cars that gets fans so crazy?

do you mean little as in the toy is a small deluxe size or do you mean the GTR it self being small?

if you mean the real thing its far from small its bigger then the Caddie XLR people wanted to be megatron so bad

I just mean the whole OMG RETURN OF ALTERNATORS thing... it's a car, it's kinda reminiscent of Universe Prowl :shrug

but I do admit that making something Prime usually does make it cooler

I kind of hope this is just a one-shot novelty thing like THS or the shoeformers.

Right now I have the impression that it is a one-shot thing, since they're using Japan's newest supercar and have decided to start with Convoy/Prime (whom we know sells extremely well in Japan) - no other vehicle/character combination is going to sell nearly as well, which limits their options going forward.

Pretty much the only way we'll see an "Alternity line" is if Hasbro gets on board, as the only reason BTs lasted as long as they did was due to Hasbro's continued investment into new molds.

I kind of hope this is just a one-shot novelty thing like THS or the shoeformers. As much as I like the idea and the execution, I just don't know if I can go through the whole BT/Alt drama thing all over again. Five years of that was quite enough.
