OTFCC Dreamwave Productions Panel

The Dreamwave Panel consisted of (from left to right) Simon Furman, Pat Lee, Brad Mick, Adam Patyk, and Don Figueroa. Just like any other panel, things were revealed, and questions from the fans were answered. Some things were further confirmed, and some previously unknown information was also revealed.

Further confirmation of the ongoing Generation One series from Dreamwave Productions was announced. What we previously heard still held true: Don Figueroa will pencil the book while Brad Mick will stay on as the writer of the series. The ongoing series will be phased in after the six-issue War and Peace (Generation One Volume Two) series that is currently taking place ends.

Also, the Transformers Armada comic will continue as well, and most likely will make the name transition from Armada to Energon - which is the next line to hit the Transformers family - to reflect the change of the show and line.

Simon Furman also further elaborated on his upcoming project The War Within: The Dark Ages, which will reunite him with a previous partner from the United Kingdom comics, Andrew Wildman. He explained that the Transformers race have split up into about six smaller factions that will battle each other. Allegiances will be misleading, giving an even bigger twist to the upcoming comic. Optimus Prime and Megatron will now play smaller roles than previously in any comic book or series, and the return of the Wreckers will also be seen.

Another bit on a Simon Furman-related piece, the Official Transformers Collectors’ Convention (OTFCC) comic book Transformers Universe will debut at Wizard World Chicago. Furman explained that since the Universe comic book is filled with Transformers from all of the generations, any character might pop up into the comic at any given time. He has also been given no boundaries, so he is able to do whatever he wants with the comic. So expect to see what Simon Furman has been most known to do – kill off some Transformers.

Dreamwave addressed the questions that fans have been asking in that they haven’t forgotten about the other past generations of Transformers, and to expect Beast Wars and Robots In Disguise-related comics sometime in the near future.

With an ongoing Generation One series in the works, as well as upcoming War Within Volume Two, the collision of multiple generations in Armada, and Beast Wars and Robots in Disguise-related comics, this year is definitely the year to watch the progress of Dreamwave Productions.
