Power of The Primes Elita-1 - First In Hand Pictures Of Wave 2 Voyager (How Bad Are The Stickers?)
ExVee - Sunday, February 11, 2018

Thanks to Ricky DeWeese who posted tothe Facebook group Transformers Addicts, we have our first look at Power of The Primes Elita-1 out of package. Elita and Hun-Gurrr both suddenly appeared in store at a Walmart in California this weekend, and we were able to share photos of Hun-Gurr with you earlier today. Elita-1 shows a healthy degree of new parts versus Starscream, leading to a decently distinct visual identity. What it largely has in common with Starscream is expansive wing stickers making up a large portion of the deco for the jet mode. But, it may not be quite as bad. Keep reading for images and more details!

This veers off toward "opinion piece" at this point, but while doing functionally the same thing that Starscream's stickers do, covering the majority of wing surface with complex printed details and text, to me it doesn't come off nearly as bad. The transition from the magenta plastic to an equivalent color on the foil stickers is much smoother than the change from grey plastic to silver foil on Starscream. The colors also contribute more pink to Elita-1's vehicle mode, and at least in terms of color layout seem to do a decent job of enhancing the deco. Now, they're still far from perfect. In the photos we have (one closeup of wing surface was sourced from Autobase Aichi, with original photographer currently unknown) we can already see edges peeling up, and the typical hallmarks of Hasbro's factory applied stickers in full effect. And if the metallic finish of the stickers is itself a problem for you, that's not going to be different here. But for myself, this seems like something I can live with easily enough. Unlike Starscream whose stickers were a final nail in that toy's coffin.

Now if only these new toys would hurry and move east so I could find them!

It looks like I might get this one despite the stickers.  But thanks for using your platform to bring this sticker mess to the forefront.  Its ruining many figures.  That's why I see many Starscreams shelfwarming in my area.

When asked if the term "break" corresponded to a return, Roberts responded with "We'll see..." What this means for the future of IDW's Transformers comics is unknown, but one thing is certain: Mr. Roberts will be missed. Keep reading for the tweet.
The Transformers Facebook page has shared a post today featuring a video clip (from Titans Return) and revealing when the third and final series in the Prime Wars Trilogy will launch. With a much shorter wait than that from Combiner Wars to Titans Return, Power of The Primes will begin streaming on Tuesday, May 1st. With the debut so close, it seems odd we haven't seen more promotion leading up to the launch date as we had with both previous web series - but there's still about a week and a half to squeeze some more in! Click through to see the original Facebook post.
Fresh in shops in both New Zealand and The Philippines as of this week, the remaining Terrorcons are now out in the wild to let collectors complete Abominus. Chefatron on Youtube has some video coverage of the new toys, taking a look individually at Sinnertwin, Blot, and Cutthroat, and then the completed combined form. Based on the usual patterns, fans in the US should expect to start seeing these toys become available in about a month from now, around the middle of May. You can check out each of the new videos embedded below.
The end of the IDW Transformers universe as we know it proceeds in July, with the first two issues of the Unicron miniseries takes us on a tour of Unicron's dinner buffet, while the double-dose of Optimus Prime issues 21 and 22 carries on the story, Meanwhile, Lost Light #21 and #22 move toward wrapping up the story More Than Meets The Eye embarked on so long ago, and wrapping it up with something completely different, we've got the second issue of the Bumblebee Movie's prequel comic tie in with 60's spy action. And be warned before proceeding, there are spoilers present in the solicitations for this month's books! That, and cover previews can be found below.
