Power of The Primes Elita-1 - First In Hand Pictures Of Wave 2 Voyager (How Bad Are The Stickers?)
ExVee - Sunday, February 11, 2018

Thanks to Ricky DeWeese who posted tothe Facebook group Transformers Addicts, we have our first look at Power of The Primes Elita-1 out of package. Elita and Hun-Gurrr both suddenly appeared in store at a Walmart in California this weekend, and we were able to share photos of Hun-Gurr with you earlier today. Elita-1 shows a healthy degree of new parts versus Starscream, leading to a decently distinct visual identity. What it largely has in common with Starscream is expansive wing stickers making up a large portion of the deco for the jet mode. But, it may not be quite as bad. Keep reading for images and more details!

This veers off toward "opinion piece" at this point, but while doing functionally the same thing that Starscream's stickers do, covering the majority of wing surface with complex printed details and text, to me it doesn't come off nearly as bad. The transition from the magenta plastic to an equivalent color on the foil stickers is much smoother than the change from grey plastic to silver foil on Starscream. The colors also contribute more pink to Elita-1's vehicle mode, and at least in terms of color layout seem to do a decent job of enhancing the deco. Now, they're still far from perfect. In the photos we have (one closeup of wing surface was sourced from Autobase Aichi, with original photographer currently unknown) we can already see edges peeling up, and the typical hallmarks of Hasbro's factory applied stickers in full effect. And if the metallic finish of the stickers is itself a problem for you, that's not going to be different here. But for myself, this seems like something I can live with easily enough. Unlike Starscream whose stickers were a final nail in that toy's coffin.

Now if only these new toys would hurry and move east so I could find them!

It looks like I might get this one despite the stickers.  But thanks for using your platform to bring this sticker mess to the forefront.  Its ruining many figures.  That's why I see many Starscreams shelfwarming in my area.

So you never even saw Titans Return Wave 5 or 6. And you missed out on your $50 Trypticon at Ollie's. And you're fully convinced that Power of the Primes Wave 2 is an urban legend (despite owning 3 of the Deluxes and all the Legends) and that Wave 3 is simply a mass-hallucination. Have you considered... stopping? If not stopping outright, stopping seriously collecting, and being emotionally invested in whether or not you get a given toy. RAC has, and he decided that stressing over his toy collection is a problem he no longer needs. Keep reading to see the factors that led him to this point.
We recently showed you some early in hand looks at the Titan Class Predaking set from GenmonTCracker's twitter account. As a followup, Genmon's Facebook page now contains many more "studio" style shots of the toys, both as individual Predacons and in the combined form of Predaking. The Predaking photos show the combiner looking very flexible, even doing - you guessed it - the Iron Man three-point-landing pose. And if you think the individual Predacons might be looking just a bit better ...well, that's probably just because the dark background helps the combiner thighs fade out of sight a bit. Check out all the photos in the gallery below.
Just in via Previews World, we have the latest on upcoming Transformers comics from IDW heading to shops and digital this August. The end of the universe proceeds in its own good time between issues 3 and 4 of the Unicron miniseries, with its echoes felt in issue 23 of Optimus Prime, all while Lost Light tends to its own final affairs in its own issue 23. In the movie world, the third issue of the Bumblebee prequel story, plus a separate trade paperback featuring a Bumblebee of a completely different flavor! Cover previews and blurbs can all be found below...
The Prime Masters were meant to represent the Thirteen Primes that are part of (at least one) creation mythology for the Transformers. But even as far back as last year's infamous giant leak that Hasbro assures us never actually happened, it was clear that some were missing from the planned lineup. In an image whose original source is fuzzy at best, we have what looks like part of the paperwork from Titan Class Predaking that shows the emblem forms of all 12 (the thirteenth being represented in the toyline by the Matrix) hinting that the ones currently missing from any known assortment could still happen. Check out the image below!
Though you could hardly call it the Optimal Situation, Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal would seem to be the focus of this week's episode of Power of the Primes! Again, we're not keeping up on this one... but if you'd like to, keep reading for a link to the go90 service where the show is viewable in North America.
