Bay: No Dinobots In Transformers 2?

"Transformers" director Michael Bay has said that Dinobots will not make an appearance, denying a previous rumor, but remained coy about any new characters.

Mr. Bay denied that the Dinobots will appear in the movie during his recent appearance at the Visual Effects Society awards ceremony where "Transformers" took home four awards.

The rumor of the Dinobots in the sequel surfaced earlier this year.

While it is a little hard to hear that Mr. Bay denies the rumor, "nelson," Shoot For the Edit's administrator clarifies, "he said no Dinobots in the video when asked."

Although Mr. Bay denied the specific Dinobot rumor, he remained coy about what other characters may appear. "[Y]ou're going to see a lot of different, new stuff," he tells IESB.

However, he did give a hint. "It's just a tip of the iceberg, what you saw last movie, in terms of characters and different types of species."

What about bringing any characters from the cartoon? "I can't tell you that," Mr. Bay said with a grin, "I can't tell you that. This time we're really good at keeping things under wraps."

'I write all my movies' Michael Bay...

Big explosion. Black guy says something hilarious. Another explosion in the middle of awesome car chase. Robot does something (maybe the robot dance?)Black guy says something that only a black guy would say. Something cool happens. One more giant explosion. Black guy dies, white guy is sad. Robots also cry. 360 degree dolly shot around everything. Credits explode. The End.

that freakin' cracked me up.

imagine it written in purple crayon.

Yah hilarious...also hilarious are the 800+ million dollar box office earnings his movies make... Obviously, its a winning formula, which is also used in nearly every other action blockbuster these days. Rotton Tomatoes=morons.

:roll

They could always use Robosaurus from them monster truck events. Sh*t, he even turns into a semi trailer. The fanboys win. Yay!!!!

TF1: hey, is this the new starscream? (handdrawn, crappy, outline sketch of a monkey jet)

Bay & co: uh, no....

:roll

Wish there was a beating a dead horse emote...

I'll probably still see it, but Dinobots vs. Constructicons actually would have actually made me think that I might like it.

Dinobots are ghey.

They're a lot of fun for kids to play with, but onscreen in a real movie -- ghey.

seriously, ghey

:pfx

Which gives me a good idea for a compromise. No Dinobots in the movie, but releases Grimlock and the gang movie-style as part of the extended TF2 line (like what they did with Arcee).

i COULD see it happening if there wasnt a humanoid robot mode persay. something like a T-rex that turns into a truck or something. or if there WAS a humanoid robot, it may have dino features to it. like Swoop would be a big robot with wings, talons, and somewhat of a pointy head.

it's very open for update

they could always do the shockwave spotlight thing....

although thats quite a bit of back story for a single movie.

Plus it would undercut the premise of the first film, which had Megatron crash landing on prehistoric Earth.

IIRC the Allspark crashed on Earth 10,000 B.C. Which would be "prehistoric" but not like dinosaur-prehistoric.
