i disconnected the boat wings and repainted my Hasbro Megatron. He's a shell former so i get it - and i dont mind that now he's a partsformer - once the gun is snapped onto the body it stays firmly so its no big deal that its detachable.
Bot megs (minus the wings) is really fantastic and looks great next to MP5
Do you have pics somewhere?

On the other hand, Megatron's robot mode *is* pretty sweet and not at all goofy / lanky like his G1 self. Aside from the wings, of course. Point is, all that bulk really helped him in the coolness department IMO.
*final analysis: prefers Hasbro colors on this guy*
Needs more red but otherwise not bad.
Hate the chrome. Random and out of place.
Even AS a futuristic space gun there is no mistaking this for an actual firearm. Seriously all Hasbro would have to have done is give him an orange cap and it wouldn't have even mattered how Megatron was painted. It's all cap guns around here are required to do and any number of them look more like an actual gun than Maverick Megatron here.
Although (disclaimer) I only have about $5 worth of love for G1 Megatron anyway. But, if you could buy the Classics mold redeco'd in a green and purple camo scheme...
TANK NOT GUN
:rofl & :pfx
If I were to pick up a version of this mold, I would definitely go with the Henkei version. Hate the chrome on the chest but the G1 colors work a lot better than the Classic colors. But still very much meh.
Now, if Tomy would release that CL tank mold in G1 colors :drool
the plastic looks so cheap. i admit that a more g1 color scheme would have been a better choice, at least or version doesnt look like KO quality plastic.
for once, hasbro has toped takara.
ORDERED :thumb
That particular shade of red just looks cheap, that's the problem I have with it.
Red was a very minor part of Megatron's color scheme... but it stands out because it was the only actual "color" he had.
An improvement on both still I think. I love how TT Anime Astrotrain looks (a big improvement over the Classics/G1 toy deco) and I really really love TT Megs. Out of the entire line, Megs is the best update w/o a doubt, but Astrotrain is a close second I think.EDIT: Oh no, I wasn't ragging on you. I was simply saying that Astrotrain IMO is a vast improvement as well. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but I think we all agree that Megs is the most improved.
Honestly, I think Prime is the most improved... Classics Megatron's alt mode is a friggin Nerf gun, lest we forget... I think the colors fit.
Yep, the colors on Megatron sure don't make those wings go away.
The wings give him kind of an evil cap kind of look. Besides, it's a very minor complaint (IMO) considering we got a Megatron who actually turns into a gun in a main line.
I still like the Classics version much better, can't stand the tacky chrome and the red on Henkei Megatron, it looks KO-ish. Classics Megatron looks more like Galvatron with all the purple and the orange. I'm displaying it with G1 Gavl reissue, G2 Galv and Energon Galv and he looks right at home.
While I agree the Hasbro versions PWN the TT versions when it comes to every other Classic, I have to say, TT Megs >>>>>>> Hasbro Megs.
And I admit it, I actually like the gay-glow scheme* we got with Hasbro's version. The TT homage, however, is just to sweat.
I know the random chrome chest looks off, but compared to the overall figure, I'd say it's a minor issue.
I don't get your hate of red though. It was part of G1 Megatron's colour scheme, plus it's the colour used most often for the eyes of the Decepticons.
