BotCon 2008 - K-Mart Exclusive Mini-Con 12-Pack

Cincinnati, Ohio—This fall, explore the TRANSFORMERS MINI-CON Universe only at Kmart. These popular pint-sized TRANSFORMERS action figures were revealed in the BotCon display cases this weekend and are back with all new deco treatments in an exclusive 12-pack. This great item—fun for kids of all ages—will be at Kmart stores beginning in September. Read on for details from our designers.

The SAFEGUARD TEAM was designed with the role of battlefield support in mind. HEAVYTREAD's deco is based on the G1 Minibot WARPATH. FLATFOOT’s name comes from a slang word for a police officer.

The OVERCAST TEAM was designed to fill an aerial assault function. CLOUDRAKER was originally the name of a G1 AUTOBOT clone, repurposed here for a helicopter gunship. BOLTFLASH’s name was inspired by both lightning imagery and the flash of a breech loading rifle. SKYHAMMER is also an old G1 name taken from the rare AUTOBOT Ultra Pretender. This SKYHAMMER is based on the COBRA RATTLER from the GI JOE toy line.

The LANDSLIDE TEAM and RANSACK Team were intended for combat engineering and toxic warfare capabilities.

I don't know but dude, it's K-mart. They mark deluxe figs up by two bucks, GI Joe Ten packs by 3$... F that. And I hate the way K-mart smells...

Kmart smells like... well, I was going to say armpits and hopelessness, but it don't even smell that good... :tfevil

The only other toy exclusive to K-Mart, that I know of, was a white jersey variant of McFarlane Sports Picks action figure. It was of someone from the San Fransisco 49ers.

Anyway, I guess that A-10 is kind of like the Cobra Rattler, and that other jet is could even be said to be inspired by the G.I. Joe Skystriker.

Hrmmm...will I end up getting these again?!? The thing that really boggles my mind is why K-Mart? Seriously, most of the time I wonder why they bother selling action figures...the shelves either have no stock or old stock. When was the last time K-Mart had an exclusive anything? Just bizarre in my eyes.

I guess Mini-cons are back to their original neutral faction too...no more Autobot or Decepticon symbols.

All in all, not a bad set IF the price is right.

The A-10 guy is based off the Cobra Rattler, eh?

Shame they didn't paint it red. Of course they didn't, mind you. Hasbro wouldn't want to release a superior Classics Powerglide before their Ultra POS Powerglide.

... did I mention I hate Ultra Powerglide?

i was already a big enough sucker to buy these once.... none of these are worth a second purchase... maybe as a bonus giveaway with a larger bot... nah

i only got two sets, and i liked at least 4 out of the 6 so if it's the right price i may try to pick it up
