After the awesome Transmetals II treatment. Anything less was going to look puny, spindly, and pretty much boring. The BM Deluxe Optimus Primal offered in Wave 1 was just that. Nicely articulated with cool light-piping. BUT, it didn't look much like the show character. Overly blue, and both of the head sculpts missed the mark on show accuracy. Which, is what makes this week' feature an interesting specimen as it was a Knockoff (KO) that managed get the faces right.
User Starscream on Weibo has posted some interesting images! It seems coming to the Platinum line in the near future to observe the Year of The Monkey will be a red and blue recolor of Beast Machines/RID 2001 Air Attack Optimus Primal. For now we have only very low resolution shots of this figure, but more will probably come fairly soon. Seen also with it is a variant Autobot symbol incorporating a primate face in the center to top things off. Click through to see all three images.
