Is one huge movie Devastator toy just not enough for you? Well not to worry, because in addition to the official Studio Series Devastator currently in process of being released by Hasbro and TakaraTomy, new third party group BombusBee has announced that they're making their own unlicensed version!
They're calling their Devastator-alike "Troublemaker" and so far have released prototype photos of two out of eight components, representing Mixmaster (BB-01 Split) and Demolishor (BB-02 Giant Axe). In one photo of Giant Axe, a Studio Series Optimus Prime can be seen posed on the robot mode, indicating not-Demolishor is set to be considerably huge. The intent may very well be to try to reflect scale with Studio Series as closely as possible. To this end, they've already revealed that the projected final size for Troublemaker is to be at least 50cm at the combined form's head - roughly 20 inches.
At this stage, no pricing or release details have been stated. Going by the sheer mass that seems to be involved though, this looks like it's going to get pricey. The Studio Series Devastator is on track to run about $260 when its finished (two Leaders, four Voyagers, and two Deluxes) and that seems like it'll be just a fraction of Troublemaker's final cost. Will the difference be worth it?
