Botcon 2015 - Souvenir Set Pricing And Basic Set Structures Announced
ExVee - Tuesday, June 09, 2015

The Collector's Club Facebook page added a post this morning revealing the prices for all the souvenir/at-show exclusive sets, as well as the number of figures contained in each. In their message they explain that there was a price increase in the sets this year of approximately $1, but on the other hand the largest set of exclusives now has four figures in it rather than three. Prior photo leaks have opened speculation about what some of these may be; for the full message and more on what you may find, keep reading!
BotCon 2015 Souvenir pricing!

We are happy to announce that this years souvenir pricing is almost exactly the same as last year (It went up by $1!) The big news though is that instead of an overall offering of 7 figures and a Kre-O figure pack to choose from, this years total souvenir set offerings includes 8 figures and a Kre-O pack. So you are getting one more deluxe sized exclusive than last year, all for essentially the same price!

The pricing is as follows:

Souvenir Set 1 (2 pack) - $89

Souvenir Set 2 (2 pack) - $79

Souvenir Set 3 (4 pack) - $169

Kre-O Souvenir Set (6 pack) - $29

We are looking forward sharing with everyone the souvenir figure reveals next week. See you all at BotCon 2015!

Based on things we've seen, we can start to guess at what toys may be in each of these groups. While nothing leaked has so far been confirmed as being related to Botcon at all, the timing strongly implies a connection, and the comic preview from a couple weeks ago also lends some strength to the following theories.

Set 1 most likely includes a Voyager mold, and so would probably be the set where General Optimus Prime, the recolor of Roadbuster would appear. Likely this would be along side a Sgt Hound done from Generations Scoop, although the existence of that as a toy right now is almost complete conjecture.

Set 2 would then probably be two Deluxes, and may be the home of the black Diaclone-style Skids we've seen. The identity of the second figure is as yet unclear, but there is a possibility that suggests itself...

Set 3 is a pack of four, which just happens to line up with the group of four Generations Waspinator recolors we saw recently. But maybe it's not quite that clear cut. One of those bugs was figured out to be decoed based on an old Diaclone toy, while two of the others represent decos that older Waspinator toys had carried or would have carried, while the third is a small leap in logic to arrive at, but can make a kind of internal sense. The Waruder-based Waspinator stands as an outlier in any case with these.

Unless the set of four is not four of the Waspinator mold. If the Diaclone-based Waspinator were instead to be assigned to the lower price two pack, you'd have a handy little Diaclone versus set. Should this be the case, we'd be looking at perhaps a set of three Waspinator recolors and a fourth figure of another flavor in the group with them, perhaps suggesting why the per-unit cost for the set of four presumed Deluxes is higher than what we're expecting to be a set of two.

The other possibility in this regard is that the four pack is all Waspinators, and there's a set of those Generations Legends Chop Shops with them, which has upped the price a bit. Whatever the case may be, there's definitely at least one at-show exclusive figure that we haven't seen revealed, or not knowingly at the very least. That's probably a happy note for many people who still want some surprises the day Botcon starts.

Yet another Hasbro Fan media event is behind us at Toy Fair. From this we have lots of photos of current and upcoming toys to obsess over, as we do every year. But that's simply the obvious, most easily visible takeaway from the presentation. But we learn more than that, so it's time to look back over the day and sort out the larger scope of information we've been given from what is arguably our biggest single day of reveals for the whole year. Keep reading!
The smallest gallery to share is that for the standard Masterpiece line. The newest entrant shown is the MP-17+ Prowl featuring animation-inspired deco and which it seems is due to get a same-month release by Hasbro going by indications from some of the US retailers. Also out at the show were Shadow Panther, with a copy of Cheetor out as a point of comparison. And rounding out the upcoming product was Dinobot, making most things around it look small. It seems that several other items were included in the display, but in the form of exclusives and other long-since released products to represent the line. You can check out the photos of the newer products below.
Wonderfest managed to diverge a bit from Toy Fair's presentation this year in the movie product on hand. While the Studio Series line was on full display matching Hasbro's reveal, a few of this year's Movie The Best products were out in the exhibit space too - though it's probably not too unfair to say some of them were rightly outclassed by their brand new Studio counterparts. We also get to see a little bit of Move Masterpiece among these toys, resulting in the movie offerings for this year being nicely represented. Click through to check them out!
Wonderfest is happening in Japan right now. The one day event falls just hours after the first day of Toy fair in New York, and on the Transformers side, and consistent with our earlier speculation much the same lineup of products were on display, albeit with subtle differences. Unfortunately in Power of The Primes those differences are limited to the state of finish of the various items shown, rather than things like actual deco choices. For instance, grey prototypes of Optimal Optimus and Predaking versus color versions. Click through to see these and more!
The images are still rolling out of Toy Fair 2018. Here, we have even more Transformers showroom images featuring the mighty PREDAKING, and more. Keep checking back for more coverage from Toy Fair 2018.
