Botcon 2016 Updates - Character Art, Golden Ticket Bonus, Plus New Image Of Production Sample Ravage

Yesterday we got a look at packaging art for the box set. Today via Twitter came the reveal of the individual character art for the Predacon combiner team. As with the box itself, this art is by Marcelo Matere and hews very closely to the style of retail Combiner Wars merchandise. Along with this is a new image of Ravage, depicting the current production sample, which should be a good indicator of the final actual colors of the toy. Finally, another e-mail went out today with a few more updates, including the reveal of an exclusive toy only for Golden Ticket registrants. Read on for details!

Hello Members!

Some exciting updates regarding BotCon 2016 Registration!

First, a reminder about some package details. If you register as a Primus package holder, you will receive not just the 5 figure boxed set, but also a FREE additional Deluxe figure. We are excited to announce that this figure utilizes the Combiner Wars tooling and also features a NEW head sculpt that does not appear on any other souvenirs.

Also, the CLASS KIT (and Assembled Class Kit) features an alternative head sculpt that is not available at retail. You can add an Assembled Class Kit when you register.

Finally, per the BotCon brochure, this year's Golden Ticket features a surprise bonus! That item is in fact an alternate version of one of the Legends Class souvenir items.

Take one last look at the Convention Brochure so you know exactly what you are planning to purchase and we will see you very soon in Louisville, Ky for BotCon 2016,10th April 7-April 10!

Based on recent comments about souvenir pricing that had the troop builder as being lower cost than previous years, the Golden Ticket exclusive figure may be an extra piece from that group, perhaps with a deco change distinguishing it from the generally available figures. The declaration of the Custom Class figure featuring an unused head sculpt does narrow its possibilities down too, as there are a relatively few figures left who have unused (in the US, at least) pretool alternate heads. Among them are Skydive and Air Raid, and thanks to the Galvatronus set we know what those alternate heads are. As well, Rook, First Aid, Trailbreaker, Wheeljack, and Brawl have unused and/or unrevealed alternate heads. First Aid, via designer desk images was revealed to have a Ratchet alternate head, and TFCC comic art implies that Rook may have a Brawl-inspired head, and Trailbreaker an alternate based on Hoist. However, barring factory leaks in the meantime, we'll likely not have the answer to this until just before Botcon begins in April.
