As it turns out, Santa Cruz is within driving distance of BaCon! So he's down there now, snapping photos of the Bumblebee set. So we're posting his first round of recon photos along with the info he's gathered so far, plus a list of some of the classics cars on location we could ID. Keep reading!
The shooting has so far taken over the boardwalk, and shooting is expected to take place in the amusement park through Friday or possibly Monday. BaCon's spotted a black Datsun 300ZX - also sold in Japan under the "Fairlady Z" name that Prowl, Bluestreak, and Smokescreen's Nissan 280ZX was sold under. A blue Chevy Monte Carlo was also seen.
BaCon is still on the scene, so hopefully we'll have more info and photos for you as it becomes available!
In the meantime, here's what our crack team of automobile non-experts here at TFormers were able to identify among the cars at the filming location:
• 1968 Camaro SS (red)
• Early 1980s Volkswagen Rabbit LS (green)
• 1985 BMW 325 (silver)
• Oldsmobile Cutlass (brown)
• Chevrolet Monte Carlo (light blue)
• 1968 Pontiac LeMans (green)
• 1970s Dodge Charger Sport (darker blue)
• 1960s Mustang (light blue)
• 1980s Datsun 280z (orange)
• 1980s Jeep Wranger (brown)
• 1980s International Harvester Scout (red)
• 1980s International Harvester Scout (charchol)
• 1979 Datsun 510 Wagon (blue)
• 1979 Datsun 510 Sedan (green and white)
Besides these, a couple of older Jeeps, a Chevrolet pickup truck, and a few other vehicles we couldn't immediately identify were present with the other prop vehicles.
