Cars from Transformers Rolls Out For America on Wheels Museum Exhibit
BaCon - Wednesday, September 06, 2017

Fans of the Transformers movie vehicles in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area can check out the new exhibit opening at the America on Wheels museum, Saturday September 8th through December 31st, 2017.

The exhibit will feature some of the actual vehicles from the movie including Megatron, Bumblebee, Rollbar, and Sideswipe. In addition to the vehicles, the exhibit will provide insights into the making of these vehicles for use in the movies.
Megatron, a Mack truck built for “Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon,” was on display at the museum in another exhibit of movie and TV cars in 2012.

The other cars are from General Motors. They are Bumblebee, a yellow 2014 Chevrolet Camaro concept car in “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” Rollbar, a 2013 Sonic RS Rally from “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” and Sideswipe, a 50th anniversary Corvette Stingray concept car from “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”

The display was curated by Ed Welburn, an America on Wheels board member and retired General Motors vice president of Global Design. Bumblebee, Sideswipe and Rollbar were designed under his leadership.

“The vehicles in ‘Transformers’ often give viewers a glimpse into the future of automotive design through concept vehicles,” says Welburn, who will talk about the exhibit at 1 p.m. on opening day.

In addition to seeing the vehicles up close, you will learn about the development process of each model. Photo opportunities will be available during the exhibit’s run.

More Transformers 5 The Last Knight News
One of the aspects of the Transformers movie franchise that rarely if ever generates discontent are the scores by Steve Jablonsky. Now - as has happened in the past with such films as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Paramount has made the score for Transformers: The Last Knight available on a "For Your Consideration" website in preparation for the Academy Awards. Keep reading for the link!

The Autobots Unite subline from The Last Knight sure turned out oddly. What was originally Walmart's exclusive contribution to the toyline largely never materialized through Walmart at all. Among them is a One Step Turbo Changer set of Bumblebee and Hot Rod, which we discovered this evening at a Ross location in middle Tennessee. This joins the Legion Class two packs in calling the closeout chain home after never finding space on Walmart's shelves. You can find a photo of the find below. The set was priced at $11.99.
Twitter user Tagoal has posted some images of the Transformers: The Last Knight Optimus Prime Clear Version that was released recently to coincide with TF5's Japanese home video debut! Sporting a lot of clear white and blue plastic, this is the Voyager mold available on shelves now (still) in the Premier Edition. It's kind of a shame that basically every version of this mold looks more appealing than the stock retail release, but even that one is a pretty nice toy in and of itself. A recent feature list on the online version of Rolling Stone sought to line up the ten worst films of 2017, Many choices seemed quite fitting, with few at least marginally surprising even just for where they scored on the list, if not their presence there to start with. But it's probably not that much of a leap that they gave the number one spot on the list to none other than Transformers: The Last Knight. While some fans might point to it as being on the better end of the series, that speaks very little for its quality in the larger arena of movies in general. Keep reading for a quick excerpt and link back to the Rolling Stone page.
