Fans of the Transformers movie vehicles in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area can check out the new exhibit opening at the America on Wheels museum, Saturday September 8th through December 31st, 2017.
The exhibit will feature some of the actual vehicles from the movie including Megatron, Bumblebee, Rollbar, and Sideswipe. In addition to the vehicles, the exhibit will provide insights into the making of these vehicles for use in the movies.
The other cars are from General Motors. They are Bumblebee, a yellow 2014 Chevrolet Camaro concept car in “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” Rollbar, a 2013 Sonic RS Rally from “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” and Sideswipe, a 50th anniversary Corvette Stingray concept car from “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”
The display was curated by Ed Welburn, an America on Wheels board member and retired General Motors vice president of Global Design. Bumblebee, Sideswipe and Rollbar were designed under his leadership.
“The vehicles in ‘Transformers’ often give viewers a glimpse into the future of automotive design through concept vehicles,” says Welburn, who will talk about the exhibit at 1 p.m. on opening day.
In addition to seeing the vehicles up close, you will learn about the development process of each model. Photo opportunities will be available during the exhibit’s run.
