Combiner Wars - Conclusion To IDW's Tie-In Event Delayed

Following an update to the comics shipping lists that feature no Transformers titles hitting shops next Wednesday, June 10th, we went did some digging and discovered that the conclusion to the Combiner Wars story, originally promoted for release last month as part of May Mayhem may not even conclude by the end of June! Find out what's changed and where the books will fall the way things are looking right now by clicking the title.

Originally intended to ship on May 27th, Windblade #3 was delayed and rescheduled for Wednesday, June 10th. However, information conflicts whether that remains the case. Previews World still supports the June 10th release, but at least one report of Diamond's own shipping lists carries no Transformers titles for next week. If Windblade has been delayed once again, its new publication date is unknown, leaving the conclusion of the Combiner Wars event up in the air. One factor we might look to is a change in artists. Originally issue 3 was solicited with Sarah Stone doing interiors. However at some point since then, this was quietly changed to indicate interior art by Marcelo Ferreira and Corin Howell. It's unsurprising that a change in who's handling art duties could lead to some setbacks in the schedule.

Consequently, as Windblade #3 is part 5 - the conclusion - of Combiner Wars and The Transformers #42 is specifically an epilogue to that story, its ship date is dependent on Windblade #3 having been released. Right now its expected shipping date is marked as "TBD" on Previews World - a status familiar to readers of Transformers Vs GI Joe and its occasionally extended delays that make predicting when it will be ready to go out to the shops difficult at best. And of course with June's own issue of Windblade still to come, the effects of this may ripple forward for a while to come as things settle back on track.
