Every so often, wires get crossed at the distribution level. Such is the stuff of Collector Legend made - like the time TJ Maxx got a wave of Generations Voyagers before they made their debut at full retail price. Or the sightings of Titans Return Brainstorm at Walmart earlier this year! This time, TFW2005 forums member smf2045 has spotted a full case of six Combiner Wars Grooves at an Orangevale, California Walmart. Unless more reports come in I wouldn't go out hunting at your local store, but keep reading to see the photographic proof all the same!
This year's "May Mayhem" online exclusive, Deluxe Groove was a mold initiated by Takara for use in their Unite Warriors release of Defensor, taking the place of new Combiner Wars character Rook. Production snags made Groove extremely difficult to find - but it seems as though the later run that was mentioned in a few places is now filtering through. HasbroToyShop had some in earlier today, but it seems to be once again out of stock. Maybe you should take a trip out to Walmart just in case...?
This report has since been corroborated by Dan, AKA @mantisninenines, who also visited the Orangevale, Sacramento CA Walmart:
Strange world where the legends are MORE expensive than deluxes, but I'll take it! pic.twitter.com/kQ8yLLuihE
