Daily Prime - 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime MasterPieces

Mint in Package (MIP) Monday is celebrating the Transformers 20th Anniversary 1984-2004 with a look at both of the Hasbro Optimus Prime MasterPiece releases in the box. Following Takara's MP-1 Convoy, Hasbro rolled out two different alternate versions with a 2004 metallic battle damaged colors (left) and a later 2006 animated colors DVD edition (right). The Walmart exclusives are presented in their own very different angular packaging that shows the figures on the box backs with full-length smokestacks, but were ultimately released with chopped stacks at retail.

@Jay Johnston Totally agree, it is the ultimate die-cast figure even if it too heavy for its own good.

This is still my Masterpiece Prime. It had the right mix of original toy and animation accuracy with a touch of vehicular realism that matched the Binaltech/Alternators.
