Remember that time Hasbro made non-transforming, super-articulated, part-swapping robots not in disguise? The Hero Mashers were one of those things you always wanted until you got it. After winning over Marvel and Star Wars fans, Hasbro rolled out a Transformers Hero Mashers "That's What It's All About" themed promo (see video below) to a weak response at retail that was discontinued by 2016 canceling waves and distribution to some countries.
Today's Prime shot takes a look at all three of the Hero Mashers Optimus Prime releases that were made in first the G1 styled Electronic and Battle Upgrade versions in 2014, followed by a Robots In Disguise (2015) version in 2015 that was never released in the USA. All things considered, it was a neat idea that looked good on the shelf but didn't have enough characters to realize part swapping idea. I was personally hoping we would get the rest of an Ultra Magnus with armor to do a Powered Convoy. Goodbye Hero Masher Optimus Prime, it was nice to know you.
