Daily Prime - Hasbro & Takara Powermaster Optimus Prime Boxes

Mint In Package (MIP) Monday takes a comparison shot of the original 1988 Hasbro Transformers Generation 1 Powermaster Optimus Prime (bottom) with the Takara Transformers Super-God Masterforce C-307 Superginrai (top) in the boxes.

Most fans know the Takara release from the C-310 Godginrai giftset that included Godbomber, but they did release just the C-307 Superginrai alone in Japan as well. While the packages were in the same format, their decorations are quite different apart from the character artwork. The figures are also somewhat different with Takara using chrome and silver plastic in place of Hasbro's light grey parts.

I have always loved this Prime. I remember saving my money as a kid and getting him. I would love a new mold of this as I didn't care for the on done in Titans Return.
