As promised, we would get to the Transformers Legacy Evolution Armada Universe Optimus Prime Commander base mode. Arguably, the most important feature of the 2002 release was the base mode, designed to host the Mini-Con play pattern in the most festive way possible (above). For the Legacy Evolution release, the base mode gets the least attention (below).

That said, taking the inverse approach to the Armada Universe Commander Base Mode design offers a lot more potential. Turning everything around works much better with the legs, allowing the lower sections to extend out, and work as angled cannons with added 5mm ports in the feet. Inverting the tread section allows the missile array to be utilized for blast effects and host a Mini-con fighter. Finally, turning the upper platform around to the back means it can be positioned at the right height for the core robot figure to do battle from.

Shown below is my Transformers Legacy Evolution Armada Universe Optimus Prime Commander Fan Base Mode loaded up with Blast Effects, Battle Masters, and original 2002 Armada Mini-Cons to make this as festive possible. Something tells me this is just the beginning, as Hasbro has plans to make gobs of those little robots all over again.
