With the truly stunning Threezero DLX Jetpower Optimus Prime coming our way, I am reminded of how exciting it was when Hasbro revealed the Transformers Revenge Of the Fallen Leader class Optimus Prime and Jetfire figure would combine like they did in the movie.
This was quite a BIG deal for Hasbro at the time, both in the figures' scale and product promotion. Shown in the Hasbro print advertisement from 2009 (below). The combined prototype form, called “POWER UP OPTIMUS PRIME” at the time, is depicted in a somewhat artistic way as declared by the disclaimer: Product shown in fantasy situation. Stay tuned for more looks at the Jetpower combo in future Daily Prime features.
