Daily Prime - The Art of Diaclone Battle Convoy Saves The Day

There's more than meets the Diaclone Battle Convoy on the Daily Prime. What is easy to forget about the original Diaclone Car Robots is Takara designed them to be pilot-controlled Mecha-Bots that were in disguise as everyday vehicles. This is wonderfully illustrated in the original Car Robots toy catalog from 1983. The dramatic street scene painting shows the Car Robots No 17 Battle Convoy (G1 Optimus Prime), No.14 Porsche 935 Turbo (G1 Jazz), and a barely visible No.1 Countach LP500S (Red G1 Sunstreaker) with Diaclone Pilots defending civilians from a Waruder guerilla force attack.
