Generation 1 Japan / Daily PrimeMint In Package (MIP) Monday rolls out for the start of another Alt Mode Week with a look at the Transformers 35th Anniversary 01 Convoy. Takara celebrated the anniversary with a special release including the cab for their original Convoy release that was packed with the Studio Series SS38 Optimus Prime in G1 colors.

Surely, many of you will recognize that 01 Convoy (bottom) is a Japan release of the WalMart G1 Optimus Prime (top) reissue. Both feature the original issue box art without the trailer that Hasbro's John Warden said wasn't made because the original molds were too decayed to use anymore. This is really a shame because these 35th truck cabs have been refined from top to bottom to make what I think are the best editions ever released.
