We've looked at the 2006 Transformers: Classics Optimus Prime in its many colors, with trailers, upgraded, scaled, and even in the box, but not at the original voyager class robot mode figure on his own.
The Classics were supposed to be just a stop-gap series Hasbro created to fill the year before the Transformers (2007) film came out. I have lost count of how many versions I have of this figure between all the mainline releases, exclusives, and knockoffs made since.
Here we are in 2022 looking back at where my obsession started with this mold for the great balance of G1 looks and modern design. Sixteen years later, the Classics Optimus Prime still looks great up against the Classics Megatron.
