Daily Prime - Unleash The Power of Armada Super Mode Optimus Prime!

With the much anticipated Naval Commander shipping out, I thought it would be fun to go back to a bit of ephemera from 2002 with an original Transformers Armada product advertisement. The series that centered around the Minicons and their ability to activate functions was no better demonstrated than with the Super Mode Optimus Prime set.

Shown in the AD with figures for Megatron, Red Alert, Starscream, Demolishor, and Cyclonus, we can see Optimus Prime is clearly the main selling point of the line. This is because the toy is packed with features. The most impressive being the auto-transformation that turns the trailer into Base Mode with a deck for Optimus Prime and the Minicons or a combination of truck and trailer into his Super Robot Mode! What's not mentioned are the numerous other features such as the light-piped fists to illuminate the Star Saber and the various electronic voice and sound effects. If that's not enough, you can go over the top combing with Overload into the "Mega Weapon", or the bottom with Jetfire as "Jet Prime", and both to form the Jet Prime Mega Weapon!
