Ectotron Makes Time-Traveling Appearance On 'The Goldbergs' - With Clip!

Last night's episode of The Goldbergs had a surprise guest appearance by an action figure that technically should not have existed in the timeframe of the show: the upcoming Ectotron!

While a crossover between Transformers and Ghostbusters is a natural fit for a show set in the `80s (especially with its vintage-styled packaging!), obviously it didn't exist then - because technically it doesn't exist now. At least, not for purchase, not yet. ETA on that is late July.

But also, just think about the articulation on the Combiner Wars Hot Spot mold family, and how utterly mind-blowing that would've been on a Transformer back then. While we might wish for more or better, it's worth remembering for those of us who've been with Transformers since the start that the figures we have now would be astonishing to our former selves.
