TFW2005 has posted their report on Hasbro's 2017 Full Year Financial Call, and they were particularly interested by a particular quote from CEO Brian Goldner. And so are we! The quote suggests that everything on the horizon - Evergreen, Cyberverse, and the Bumblebee Movie line - is going to hit at the same time in the fall. Keep reading to see!
If RAC's hypothesis about the meaning of the shortness of Power of the Primes holds true, this likely means that Hasbro's "blueprint" is a full brand refresh, a symbolic move away from the Michael Bay era. And so we should expect to see the Evergreen main line, Cyberverse, and Bumblebee: The Movie all around the same time as the execution of that blueprint.
Given the usual timeframe of such a debut - 1 to 2 months before a movie's premiere - We'd suggest that October would be a good time to be looking for both these lines. With Solo: A Star Wars Story hitting in May and Star Wars revenue on the decline for Hasbro, slotting in Transformers as the fall merchandise push seems logical.
2005 also reminds us that Authentics - and by extension the "Evergreen" styling - are part of Generations. This coupled with Cyberverse's using of the Evergreen designs only strengthens the argument that Evergreen will supplant Generations as we know it at the close of the Prime Wars Trilogy, essentially making Generations (in some form) the main line for Transformers for the next few years.
