Generation Selects Star Convoy - New TakaraTomy Mall Photos Show Off Matrix Accessory

TakaraTomy Mall has updated their page for the upcoming Generation Selects Star Convoy, and we've got some new images! We've now got a closer look at the figure's Matrix accessory, which appears to be a slight modification of the one included with Power of the Primes Leader Optimus Prime. Now sporting a 5mm peg on the bottom and socket on the top, the vac-metal Matrix is designed to combine with Star Convoy's gun, which actually manages to look pretty neat in our opinion. Check out the images below!

Star Convoy is the first release in TakaraTomy's version of Generations Select, titled "Generation Selects." The figure he's based on was the version of Optimus Prime for Transformers: Return of Convoy, the second-to-last Japanese line in G1. It was supported by the Transformers: Battlestars manga and was the first part of G1 to not be supported by animation. The following year would see the end of the first phase of Transformers in Japan with the release of Operation Combination.
