Hasbro Sales Jump Lead By Transformers, Marvel, Boys Toys Lines

Transform and Roll Out the Sales! That's what is said to have surprised investors on Hasbro's earnings report of a 10% lift in quarterly boys product sales. This is despite the fact that many retailers profits have been slowed by the strong US Dollar. Hasbro cited their stable brand Transformers and other entertainment tie-ins such as Marvel as their leaders in sales last quarter, according to Forbes magazine.
The toy maker reported $713.5 million in revenue, up 5% from a year earlier. Hasbro says that absent $62.6 million in negative foreign exchange impact revenue would have grown 14%.

At the product level sales of toys targeted at little boys and preschool aged children grew while the girls category declined. The 10% increase in boys revenue were driven by sales of Nerf as well as by entertainment tie-ins like Transformers, Marvel and Jurassic World products.
