Hasbro designer Mark Maher melts down all the Easter candies into the behind the scenes on Transformers Legacy Infernac Universe Deluxe Shard. This drippy character is another of the Rocklord spin-off that's part of the United arm of the trilogy. Learn about how this figure came about in the designer notes and images that follow.
Lets cut right into the deets, at first my plan was to make Shard translucent dark energon. What I didn’t realize was in order to keep the awesome combination armorizer gimmick, due to strength and durability, the clear material would never hold up. When I work on ideas such as these, my ideas and fantasies really run wild. Im extremely thankful for being blessed with working with genius minds like Takara’s Ejima san. He really steered the ship and reeled me in when my dreams need to be based in reality.
With the armorizers, much like other izers in the past, I’m really trying to push the limits with TF. Stuff that I’ve never seen done before, which is really challenging for such an innovative 40 year successful powerhouse brand, but I really do feel Shard is breaking some barriers. The crystalline translucent cockpits, the extreme sculpted texture, the baha blast color scheme (thank to the fans for that call out name, I love it ), seeing a helicopter with workable rotary sword blades in a crystalline form that still maintains the “get to da choppah” vibes, are all things that make me really satisfied and happy as to how this came out.
I have so many characters to post, busy busy busy! The fun and pace never stops! I hope yall had a hoppy Easter holiday today. I know, I know, a stampy would be perfect
